Bardic by Honeywell and the WEEE Directive
The EU Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) became law in the UK on the 1st July 2007.
The primary purpose of the Directive is the prevention of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and to require the re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of such waste so as to reduce its disposal to landfill or incineration.
Currently all fire detection and alarm equipment is exempt from the WEEE Directive and Regulations.
As a producer of Emergency Lighting, Bardic by Honeywell is registered as a Producer of WEEE. Our responsibilities under the WEEE Regulations 2006 will be carried out by the UK’s largest WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme Company; B2B Compliance.
